At Woodlands School of Dance we recognise that most of our students want the opportunity to show their progress and skills to their family, friends and often to a wider audience.
We hold a School Show once every two years, offering our dancers the opportunity to perform on stage. These shows are open to every student of the school (with the exception of Creative Dancers and Pre-Primary Acro Dancers). Our last school show, "Step in Time", was held at the ARTRIX THEATRE in Bromsgrove.
We aim to produce smaller shows as regularly as possible. These are held in our very own Studio Theatre, which offers a more intimate setting.
Our Themed Workshops also offer students the opportunity to perform, as well as the chance to experience different dance and performance styles. Previous workshops include a Dirty Dancing workshop led by Carly Miles (Dance Captain of the Dirty Dancing Tour), and Paul Chantry & Rae Piper from The Chantry Dance Company, who ran a Contemporary Ballet workshop at our studio.
Many of our students have been chosen to perform in musical theatre productions with local Operatic Societies. Most recently, some of our senior dancers were selected to work with Tinkers Farm Operatic Society on their production of Kismet, which was performed at the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham.
More images from our productions can be found in our Gallery.
