No jewellery or nail varnish. Dancers should arrive in their regular clothes (named), and avoid bringing their usual dance uniform unless required for their costume. Hair should already be in a bun when dancers are signed in at the stage door. Make-up will not be worn by all dancers, and so will be applied in the dressing rooms under adult/senior dancer supervision. Older/senior dancers are encouraged to bring their own make-up, to include: black mascara, black eyeliner, foundation, a bright blusher, brown/gold eye shadows and red lipstick. Make-up will be available to those who do not have any.
ARRIVING AT THE THEATRE
Dancers are to be signed in at the stage door. Parents will not be able to come in with dancers, unless they have previously offered their help backstage.
Dancers in Act 1 only
Dancers in Act 1 should arrive at the theatre one hour before the start of each performance (i.e. 1pm and 6pm). They will need to be collected from the theatre during the interval of each performance. The times for collection will be confirmed soon.
Please be aware that if you have tickets to watch a performance, you will need to purchase extra tickets for dancers if you would like them to stay with you to watch Act 2. The theatre will not permit children sitting on laps. There is a form next to the show notice board for anyone intending on leaving a performance after Act 1, and who would like to sell on their Act 2 seat/s.
Dancers in Act 2 only
Dancers in Act 2 only should arrive at the theatre during the interval of each performance. Times for this will be confirmed soon. The dancers listed below will be required to arrive one hour before the start of each performance (i.e. 1pm and 6pm). This is because their dances are at the start of Act 2.
Dancers will be collected at the end of each performance. Times for this will be confirmed shortly.
Dancers in Act 1 & Act 2
Those who have dances in both acts will need to dropped of one hour before the start of each performance (i.e. 1pm and 6pm), and will be collected at the end of each performance (times TBC).
Costumes need to be paid for no later than Saturday 1st July.
Costumes are required for the dress rehearsal and each of the four performances. Please ensure they are well prepared by the dress rehearsal. This includes being ironed (if requested by the teacher) and any size adjustments have been done (e.g. straps and trouser legs). The costumes should arrive at the dress rehearsal and performances with your dancer as they sign in. Each costume should have already been named but please check before bringing to the dress rehearsal. All other items should also be named, e.g. water bottle, own clothes, dance bag.
Any costumes required for quick changes should be given in as described below.
Many dancers are in multiple dances and so will need to change costumes during a performance. While some dancers will have enough time to change their costume in their dressing room, others have a relatively short amount of time to do this, this is known as a 'quick change'. These changes will therefore take place in either the quick change area or side of stage, and will be supervised by a member of staff and/or an adult helper.
Dancers with quick changes will be notified of this, and you can also check on the show notice board whether you or your dancer/s will need to change quickly.
Costumes for quick changes must be given in separately on arrival to the dress rehearsal and the theatre. Please ensure all elements of the costume are kept together, separate to any other quick change costumes you/your dancer may have. The bag should be clearly names and the dance identified.
Quick change costumes must be provided as described for all performances and the dress rehearsal.
Please check the show notice board for any quick changes.
