At Woodlands School of Dance we offer a wide range of dance and fitness classes for children from 2.5 years up to and including adults. Dance offers the chance to have fun, stay fit, build confidence & self-esteem, and improve posture, co-ordination, creativity & musicality.
Woodlands School of Dance is proud to be inclusive of all races, genders, and abilities. Our emphasis is on encouraging all dancers to reach their full potential by teaching the importance of a strong foundation, discipline, and self awareness; along with the many physical and social benefits of dance.
Woodlands School of Dance was first established in 1958. In 1989, Mrs Lesley Stocker became the new Principal of WSD and took the school from humble beginnings in church halls and community centres to the new premises in Northfield, Birmingham, in 2007. This heralded an exciting new start for the dance school.
In the August of 2013, Mrs Stocker sadly passed away, but since then The Woodlands Team has worked alongside Mr Ian Stocker to ensure the school is able to continue to provide the local community with high quality dance and fitness classes.
The school was successful in its application to become a Community Interest Company (CIC) in September 2015, and are pround to have Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) status. Woodlands School of Dance is a non-profitable organisation.
Woodlands School of Dance is the trading name of Woodlands School of Dance & Fitness CIC.
